In my ‘Real-Life’ family photo sessions, we’ll spend time together in the spaces you typically spend time in doing the things you typically do. But there will be nothing typical about these photographs.
These photographs will capture your family perfectly and remind you how beautiful ordinary moments can be.
There’s a specific approach I take to create the beautiful, natural-feeling photos that families love so much.
I use natural light as much as possible. The first thing I do when I walk into a room is find the light. Working with the light that highlights ordinary moments in extraordinary ways.
I see what you can’t. What I love most about being your personal photographer for a day is discovering all the quirky, wonderful things your family does without even thinking about it. These are the moments you’ll connect with most.
I put your family at ease. I’ve become adept at getting people to relax from the other side of the camera. I’ll help you to forget about the lens and let your natural beauty come out.
Catch the moments you miss while you’re fumbling for your phone.
We’ll start out with a short call to figure out where your family will feel most comfortable. It will most often be in your home or somewhere you spend a lot of time. I’ll ask some questions about what your days tend to look like, then give you an idea of which moments we could focus on.
The day of the photoshoot, we’ll spend a little time getting to know each other, then I’ll send your family off to do what they would normally do. There will be some moments where I’m interacting with you, others where I’ll be a fly on the wall. Your only job will be to go about your day.
Your family’s day-to-day may feel routine to you, but where you see an ordinary morning at the breakfast table, I see a scene from an untold story of fierce love and endearing quirks.
We’ll uncover that story one candid moment at a time.
Like having friends over for dinner, the more time we have together the more everyone will relax and the deeper we can go. There are no rules and no schedule. Kids need to go down for a nap? Perfect. Someone needs to dip into the office for an unexpected work call? Beautiful. The more you go about doing what you need to do, the more we’ll capture those impromptu moments that will have you saying, “these pictures are so us.”
